Club House Open on Saturday, July 4th
The Association Club House will be open for regular business on Saturday, July 4th. (9;00am till 1:00am)
Join us for fireworks @ 10:00pm to celebrate the 4th of July holiday. Bring a chair or blanket.
TRAFFIC NOTICE:
PennDot has contracted to have the state highway bridge (near the hollow road gate) repaired starting sometime after June 29th. Be aware of stops or construction hazards. Work should be completed within a week or so.
Also, the Union Township Police Department has received complaints in regard to speeding in the area of the club house and failure to stop at the stop sign. Be aware that the area may be monitoured for violations.
As always, wear your seat belts and observe all rules and regulations of the road.
Dam Clean-Up/Repair
During the regular meeting held on June 15th; it was decided that the dam will be drained on July 27th in anticipation of the clean-up/repair project. Also decided; anyone wishing to submit a bid for the (dam) clean-up & repair work; is to have same submitted to the Association no later than August 13th. Final decsion as to the project work is scheduled to be during the August regular meeting.
2009 Annual Picnic
The annual Association Picnic was held on June 13th. Over 200 people signed up this year. A club record. Dispite the occasion rain storms; overall attendence was good and all had a great time. Entertainment was by D.J. Snapes / Totally Kool Kareoke.

Kiddie's Day 2009
Last years winner of the largest fish caught during the Kiddie's Day tournament, Lee Ann Rusnock, is presented the winning "mounted" trout by fellow member John Martinelli of Nature's Way Wildlife Studio, Weston, PA 570-384-3344The Association would like to congratulate Lee Ann and also this years winners. The largest trout caught was by Lydia Teter (18"). The largest trout caught by a boy was Michael Bellas (17 3/4") Both recevied a $100. gift certificate. Lydia will have her winning catch mounted by Nature's Way.
We thank John for his generous donation by providing the mounting service. Please keep Nature's Way in mind for your taxidermy needs.
This year's event was well attended. 70 children were registered and participated. In addition to the largest (boy & girl) winners. Each participant received a $1. coin (donated by John Foley) and a prize.
A total of $451 was donated toward the event; we would like to thank Randy Eiseman, Charles Schaaf (who made a donation in memory of his wife, Donna), John Foley, Rob Glinskas, Jim Reimod, Sandy Agular and of course John Martinelli. Please contact us if we missed your name.

SFG "coolies" Now On Sale in the Club House
Coolies with the Association logo and 100th Anniversary date (April 20th, 2010) are now available for sale in the club house. The coolies were suggested by, tested and approved by Dottie & Mickey Redmond. They fit both cans and bottles. Price is $1.00 each. Stock up in anticipation of global warming. They make great gifts for all occasions. Proceeds benefit the Association general operating fund.Adopt-A-Highway Project
The annual highway clean-up on the Ringtown - Zion Grove Road was held on Saturday, May 2nd. The weather was cool and the rain held off.
Participation was a bit lite this year. But we were able to finish the entire two miles before noon.
The Association would like to thank Herb Zensen, Perry Adams and Rob Glinskas for a job well done. Eighteen bags were collected this year.
Spring Work Party
The 2009 Spring Work Party was held on Saturday, April 25th. Despite the first day of Turkey and the awesome weather; we had 19 members show up.
Clean-up work was completed around the dam, playground and picnic grove.
Also, the basement of the club house was cleaned out.
