Association Picnic
The annual club picnic will be on Saturday, June 16th starting at 1:00pm. Fees are; $14. for 21 years and older. $8.00 for 13 years to 20 years of age. Free for 12 years and younger.

KID'S DAY 2012
The Association's annual Kid's Day was held on Sunday, May 20th. With temperatures in the 80's and clear skies.... 95 children participated in this year's event.
This year's winner of the largest caught was Alivia Pennypacker with 18". Her catch will be mounted by John Martinelli (Nature's Way Taxidermy, Weston, PA)

LIFE PRESERVER STATIONS PAINTED
(May 12) Raymond Boxter has begun painting the life preserver stations found around the dam. See the "projects" page (direct link) on the web site for picture and details.
2012 ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY
(May 5th) The Association in cooperation with PennDOT participates in the Adopt-A-Highway program. Our responsibility is the Ringtown / Zion Grove road from the club house to Ringtown. On Saturday May 5th several members volunteered their time and collected 37 bags of refuse.
We would like to thank; Deidre Stanakis, Darien Stanakis, Savanna Stanakis, Bob Grebloski, Herb Zensen, Austin Kofluk, Glenn Everett, John Lescowitch, John Foley (5/3) and Rob Glinskas for their help in this community project.
Also, thank you to Patrolman Phillip Beaver (a fellow member of the Association) of the Union Township Police Department for providing safety supervision on the highway.
2012 WORK PARTY
(April 30th) The Association would like to thank those that attended the work party held on April 28th; John Foley, John Lescowitch, Chris Rooney, Brogan Rooney, Micky Rooney, Leon Blasiak and Rob Glinskas. Also, Dan Rusnock who took on one of the projects (repair porch ceiling) the week prior. Work was done on cleaning up the grounds in the Picnic Grove, around the dam and the playgroud area. John Foley worked on painting the benches around the dam.

(fishing / Mother's Day May 13th )
(May 13th) With the temperature in the mid 70's and mostly sunney skies at 1:00pm / approximately 20 woman (Mother's Day) were at the ready for the start of this week's fishing action.
One hundred trout stocked in the dam and, thirty in the creek. The 2012 stocking program continues until Father's Day.

PLAYGROUND UPGRADES
(April 14, 2012) Repair work to the lawn area of the playground was completed. The area was damaged when used to stage material for the dam clean out. Work was started last summer with top soil being spread. The area was finallly repaired and grass seed planted.

Also, a layer of mulch was added as a safety feature around the playground equipment.
The next few weeks there may be a shortage of parking spots in this area until the grass takes hold. Please do not park on the seeded area. We appreciate your cooperation.
EASTER EGG HUNT HUNT
The annual Easter Egg Hunt and visit by the Easter Bunny was held on Sunday, April 1st. There was a turn-out of approximately 95 children with each receiving a candy prize. Special eggs contained a chip for the super prize of a large Easter basket or gift certificate. There were also pony rides provided Terry Schreffler & Angela Ogronek.

Results from the Ham & Turkey Drawing held on Saturday, March, 24th can be found on the "ham & turkey winners" page (click for diect access) on this website. Winners will be notified by phone (if possible). Prizes to be picked up on Friday, March 30th after 5pm (subject to delivery).
SPRING NEWSLETTER MAILED
The Spring newsletter was mailed on March 9th. Please contact the Association ASAP if you did not receive a mailing. It is important the we keep the mailing list as up to date as possible.

FOOT BRIDGE REPAIRED

(March 2012) The footbridge that is located below the spillway was carried downstream during last Fall's heavy rains. It was placed along the bank of the Little Catawissa on the Picnic Grove side of the state highway bridge.
The bridge was recovered and work has been done to repair the damage. Especially the handrails which had to be replaced.
Those working on the bridge repair included: Clarence Foose, Butch Houser who worked on the fabrication. Justin Grebloski who moved the bridge with a backhoe and Bob Grebloski & Howard Mummey who worked on installation.
Also, thanks to Dick Yuengling for providing the railing, Robert Murray for straw (reseeding) and fellow member Joe McDemus (TriWay Metals) for providing the heavy equipment truck used to put the finished bridge in place.
The Association would like to acknowledge the recovery work by Tom & Brian Davidson, John Lescowitch and Dennis Rupert on December 11, 2011 who brought the bridge out of the Little Catawissa streamside.
